About this property

Welcome to Rivet House

Rivet House is a boutique-style hotel located in Athens, GA, set within a thoughtfully repurposed industrial building. Its design balances modern elements with historic details, featuring exposed brick and wood beams that create an "industrial-chic" yet cozy atmosphere. Guests appreciate the calm and welcoming vibe, describing the hotel as a comfortable retreat that avoids pretension while offering style and charm.

The hotel’s amenities include free Wi-Fi, free parking, accessibility features, a smoke-free environment, an on-site restaurant, and a spa. While there is no pool or fitness center on the property, the presence of Osteria Olio, an Italian fine dining restaurant and wine bar located on site, provides a convenient and well-reviewed dining option. Guests have noted excellent service and quality food, making it a highlight of the stay.

Situated about six minutes by car from downtown Athens, the hotel is set in a light industrial area, which some guests find less central but appreciate for its quieter, more secluded environment. Nearby attractions like the Georgia Museum of Art, the State Botanical Garden of Georgia, and the Sandy Creek Nature Center offer cultural and outdoor activities within easy reach. Transportation access is reasonable, with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport about an hour and a half away by car.

Guest feedback reflects overall satisfaction with the property’s ambiance, design, and service quality, though some comments mention smaller room sizes and noise from nearby train tracks or industrial surroundings depending on room location. The hotel suits travelers looking for a stylish, relaxed stay with an on-site dining experience and spa, rather than those seeking a bustling downtown scene or extensive on-site leisure facilities.

Genuinely one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The room, the restaurant, and the attention to detail were next to none. They knew I was coming to celebrate an occasion (a heart surgery and birthday) and Cara decked out my room, got me welcome gifts personalized to me, and the Olio staff had a custom menu for me, gave me a card signed by the entire staff, and a dessert. They honestly could not have made my stay any better. I will absolutely be spending every occasion here - even sending my mom for her birthday this week. Best hotel, food, and ambiance in Athens.

Besides Vegas and other major city hotel suites and penthouses this is up there with it. I was pretty impressed by their king suite room and the modern, sleek design with a timeless touch. The hotel is very modern, yet has a timeless touch with wood beams throughout it very well articulated.

We stayed here during the ice storm because I was very pregnant and afraid we wouldn’t be able to get to the hospital if we needed to. The staff was so nice, the valet jumped to help with all our bags and parking and making sure I didn’t slip on the ice, front desk people were so nice and left us a sweet baby gift in the room. We sat at the bar and had dinner Saturday night which was delicious and we talked with the bar tender who was very friendly. Sunday the restaurant was closed because of the weather and staff was really nice helping us get coffee and pastries and making us hot water to make the food we brought. The room was beautiful and very comfortable to wait out the storm. The staff was what really made our stay though. And luckily we did not have to go to the hospital in the storm! We definitely would love to stay here again and visit the spa!

I recently stayed at Rivet House and it struck me as one of those rare places that gets “ambience, comfort, and style” just right. Walking in, you can sense that this isn’t your typical hotel — the building itself has history (it used to be a denim mill), and that heritage shows in the exposed brick, wood beams, and the tasteful way they’ve blended old and new. The design gives it that “industrial-chic meets cozy retreat” vibe — modern and polished, yet warm and inviting rather than cold or overly formal. The room felt like a quiet little haven: clean, thoughtfully designed, with lots of light and a relaxed layout that helped me unwind after a long day. The overall feeling was calm without being boring — a good balance between upscale and laid-back. One of the highlights for me was the sense that Rivet House is made both for visitors and locals who just want a change of scenery. There’s an on-site restaurant and bar (and even a spa), which makes it easy to treat yourself to a full evening: no need to plan transport, no need to search for another spot — everything you need is right there. The staff felt welcoming and friendly, and from check-in to check-out the experience never felt rushed or overly formal. If there’s one thing to keep in mind: Rivet House doesn’t feel like a flashy resort. It’s more understated elegance and quality than loud luxury. If you’re looking for something simple and anonymous — a bed for the night — this might feel like a bit more than you need. But if you’re looking for a “staycation” vibe or a night out where comfort, aesthetics, and ease matter, this place really works. Bottom line: Rivet House feels like a thoughtful, calm escape — a boutique-style hideaway that balances charm, comfort, and just enough character to make a stay feel special. I’d definitely stay there again.

Great stay at Rivet house, isn’t walkable to downtown Athens but comfortable hotel. Hotel and restaurant have great boutique meets industrial vibe, with well stocked bar. For the most part the staff was friendly and had good service. The restaurant Osteria Olio was sooo good! Our waiter Zach did such a great job with recommendations and service. Chef Braeden’s Fusilli Con Salsiccia was some of the best pasta I have ever had! If in Athens this gem of a hotel and restaurant are a MUST. We will be back!

Really a 4.5 star rating. Very nice hotel, certainly the nicest in Athens. New, and definitely in the modern vernacular of a repurposed industrial building. Overall a very nice experience. The main gripe, albeit minor, was at the room, which was an upgraded King, was quite small. No drawers, no full closet, just a hanging bar, and a mostly open bathroom. Pretty, comfortable mattress. We were also on the side of the hotel right by the train tracks. We were anxious because on arrival, there was a noise machine, ear plugs, and a note from the management apologizing for the noise. Actually, though, we had about four trains pass to and they really weren't that loud. Certainly much less obnoxious than the more common drunk guests in the hallway scenario that we so often encounter. Service was otherwise very nice, although the absence of Bell staff was a bit of a surprise at a hotel presenting itself as four or five star. You get your own luggage card and haul your bags, but it's a small enough facility that it's not a big deal. Love the restaurant. Fun atmosphere, excellent food, solid wine and cocktail list. Had a drink at the bar after dinner as well which was well equipped. Overall, definitely a "would stay again" hotel and I would recommend it. Next time, maybe we upgrade to a suite?

The story of this hotel is a mixed bag. First, the building is beautiful, the staff we met are wonderful. The location is 6 minute drive outside Athens. If you decide to stay here prepare yourself, the hotel is located in a light industrial area. The downside is that the backside of the hotel is literally 30-50 feet away, at the same level as the second floor. And it is active. We changed our room to the parking lot side thankfully, but it was still noisy at midnight, midnight 30, and 2:30AM. The hotel has a beautiful outside area and restaurant as well as a spa. Sadly, one is able to connect to the WIFI, but it does not seem to work very well, choppy, lags, no connection messages.

I have enjoyed each of my stays at Rivet House. Harper has always been so helpful and welcoming with each stay. The restaurant has great choices and drinks. The hotel is very secluded which I like however the walls are thin you can definitely hear your neighboring guest beside you. I have experienced a room on both sides from the train to the parking lot view. I will say the room on the side by the train wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I love that the curtains are black out so if you really want to get some rest you can. Overall it’s a really nice hotel especially for Athens. Love love love the shower. Perfect place for a staycation or if you’re just in town visiting. I for sure will be staying again.
